Dave in London
Best series I've watched since Breaking Bad. I used the forum search function to see if this had been posted about before, and nothing showed up, which surprised me as I'm sure I saw mention of it on here before. Anyway, use your internet thievery skills (or Netflix etc if it's on there) to find it. The rewards are fulsome. It's a drama about the various (fictional) families that run the Naples underworld. The acting is superb, the story has depth and it's well worth your time. So far it's only a season (series! ) and 12 episodes long, but the way it finished, it's inevitably going to carry on. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2049116/?ref_=nv_sr_1 11/10. thewelk
It's really depressing but great at the same time. There's no 'good' in any character in the end. And I'm sure that the Napoli tourist board are delighted!

Dalgety Bay TA
is it not a film? This is the series based on the book/film. As DiL said, it really is a superb series, well worth a watch.

Bristolhibby
Had it recorded on Sky+ but it was taking up too much room. Decided to delete it. Watched the first episode and liked it, however it wasnt one you could put on and just zone out. Christ, Naples looks grim. J

Dave in London
Awrite Dave? All good Had it recorded on Sky+ but it was taking up too much room. Decided to delete it. Watched the first episode and liked it, however it wasnt one you could put on and just zone out. Christ, Naples looks grim. J Yeah, I reckon you need to watch a couple of episodes to really get the rhythm of the show, and learn who's who etc. It's a fair bet you'll get hooked in after that ... thewelk
It's melodramatic as f*ck. Italians (who barely understand what the characters are saying) like it but also make fun of it because the characters are ridiculous. You won't understand anything in the video but it's just funny to recognise the ridiculousness of the characters and the dialog (and there's a nice cameo from Genny Savastano...). rabmania
Naples- a fantastic place, sure there are grim elements, but that's a feature of every city. If you go to Sorrento from Naples Airport/station, all you'll see is the worst. A bit like judging the whole of Glasgow because you've seen the Gorbals slums in the 60s/70s ( not an irrelevant comparison-Naples is slowly dragging itself, in a 'Glasgow's Miles Better'-sort of way, upwards). We spent over a week in Naples this year, and never felt the need to leave it, not even for Capri.
Auchinyell Sox Change
All good Yeah, I reckon you need to watch a couple of episodes to really get the rhythm of the show, and learn who's who etc. It's a fair bet you'll get hooked in after that ... cheers will look out for that watched the film when it came out ; 5/6years back ? and was transfixed by i then (me and one other punter in old movie house in downtown Calgary - sadly now closed) really starved of decent tv and film out here ; HBO is popular for boardwalk empire etc usually revert to netflix (which is way better than it was than when it first appeared) just finished a Belgian series called 'Salamander' which was good ; done the usual 'the bridge's scandy version ; 'the killing -seattle - slow but addicive -season 3 i felt was gash and after flashing past sarah lancashire in happy valley many many times (expecting a contemporary heartbeat theme) found a series that i had watched in space of weekend ; amazing - but being away from uk had no idea it was well received been watching sexy beast for first time since its cinema release - taped it from canadian tv ; which had blanked every expletive out the film - bit like ****king watching a *****king silent movie , you *****king c**t gandhi is outstanding in the film apologies way off tangent
morrie21
Got this on my sky box to watch. about time I got stuck into it. If anyone's looking for something else to watch I recommend Braquo. So far there have been 3 8episode seasons and I think it's the business. It's about a corrupt police squad in Paris and it's very violent. Will leave it at that
brant grebner
Liked the film and started watching this last night. Dago-Wire-esque total anti-hero stuff - they're all a bunch of evil bastards. Like the tune that plays about 4 minutes before the end of every episode. Even the main protagonist (Ciro) is 'orrible. Weirdly though, you end up pulling for a few of them. Stick with it.
