girvanTA
Pele won the world cup at 17, and scored 3 goals in the semi final and 2 in the final. Not bad considering he was unproven!
andyD
Westwood is quality to be fair. I'm quite glad he's not their first choice, tho i can't understand why he isnt.

Duncan Blackheart
I'd have Grealish in our team as first pick. Honest. (Where are smilies on the mobile version when you need them?!) Westwood is a good goalie.
adamntg
Know the facts before you start posting complete b*llox like a good man Grealish's Father: We appreciated the call from Martin yesterday but there was no way Jack was going to accept, I don't deal in facts, I prefer smear and insinuation. However, in this case, I'm right. He's taken you for mugs. He'll be back next year maybe, if Engerlans don't come calling. I'll tell him to sling his hook personally. Must be the best bit of being an international footballer, getting to visit all these countries you've never been to. Like Ritchie coming to Scotland. TheBoysinGreen
I do love reading Scots discuss the Irish. You'd swear you never had a non Scot play for you and you'd swear you've made every major championship in the last 30 years.

They chose not to. The FAI didn't steal them or poach them or anything like that

ErsatzThistle
I wasn't happy with McGeady or McCarthy's decision either lads, but with a few Scotland fans this is becoming almost an obsession to harp on about it.Ireland haven't really done much damage to us when you look at it. Of the seven senior players they have had that were Scots born, three of them - Charlie Gallagher, Bernie Slaven and Owen Coyle - weren't good enough for Scotland and were no loss at all. Whether Tommy Coyne was a loss is debateable. Whilst Ray Houghton was a big loss, he has said a couple of times in the past that he would have played for Scotland if we had only asked him first but in any event his father was an Irishman anyway. The USA, Canada and Australia as it happens have called up tonnes of Scots born players in the past for their national teams.Falkirk born Johnny Moscardini won nine caps for Italy during the early 1920s. Scotland would've loved to call on McGeady and McCarthy, both born in Scotland who could've been expected to play for Scotland under normal circumstances. They actively chose not to play for Scotland, which is where the gripe is. The closest we've had is Jordan Rhodes picking Scotland over England, although, of course, he'd never have got near an England jersey. If Jack Harper ends up playing for us rather than Spain, and does indeed become a Real Madrid first-teamer, that would be similar. But shit happens. The Germans are happy to take guys from all over, some of them not even slightly German. What're you gonna do?

Most if not all of the players they`ve capped recently who weren`t born in Germany arrived when very young in Germany.
