just listened to that thanks ; was great

used to watch strachan a lot as a player at Aberdeen ; followed his career when he moved south

i always thought his man utd days were a bit lacking ; amazing revival at leeds utd though

would say his best days were with Dons & Scotland in early 80s ; WC 82 for Scotland , 86 not so special (yeah i know he scored v W.Germany)

Found it interesting listen aswell "too many coaches..." etc . "All you need is a ball and a wall...master the ball.."

Basically saying everything should be stripped back to basics and as many hours in the day as possible are needed.

Couldn't agree more. I've coached at a kids level and it ALL about touches of the ball. By miles that is the most important aspect. Bugger tactics at a young age, that can come later.

He's a legend.

Was a wee bit disappointed with his response re the politics of the qatar game as he comes across as someone who cares about the common man.

Difficult situation admittedly when the folk that hire you are in the wrong so won't hold it against him.

I think it's the first time since walter smith that we have had a manager who is is a bigger character than the players. When he talks people listen. We should never appoint a levien or burley again. A big name brings some gravitas.
