kmcca5
12 months ago Craig Gordon had been out of the game for over two years through injury and looked like he might never be seen in a professional team again. Fast forward to now and he picks up Scottish Football Writers' Association player of the year award. What an inspirational story. I salute you Craig, you never gave up and worked your socks off and you deserve every plaudit that you get. At U Peter
It's a bit of a cliché that top keepers are worth an extra 9-12 points a season for their team but that's been the case with Craig Gordon this year.
1ANDYP
Correct.just a pity he got injured as would have been as good as anyone in the world.

Look at Buffon, Gordon still could have 5 to 7 years left in him. I don't see why not, I think he is that good.
ErsatzThistle
Will never forget when we beat France 1-0 at Hampden and the final whistle blew. Gordon was down on his knees and just exploded with joy. He's clearly always loved playing for Scotland.

Not normally one of those "full kit w***ers" who buy every kit including the goalie's kit, but was tempted at that time

Will never forget the final whistle
braveheart_lynch
Bit in the paper today saying he turned down a seven figure insurance sum for the opportunity to sign for Celtic and play football again.
Pool Q
Good news. He had the potential to be a genuine Scotland great, something he may now hopefully go on to do.

Ur, Buffon's greatness has much to do with his fitness and rarely picking up injuries. Not exactly an apposite keeper to compare Gordon to. No, I see your point, what I was trying to get at was goalkeepers playing well into their late 30s and Gordon could have the next 5 years to become a footballing great. jimstroma
Gordon has had a great come back. I won't be surprised if a bigger club come in for him in the summer.

If he continued to play well for Celtic for another year injury free then yes. Bigger clubs will want to make sure his injury past has well and truly gone. Right in saying Faddy on 49 caps? Surely a wee call for our next friendly against a team like the Faroes or Estonia could happen so he gets his 50 and deserved place in Hall of Fame. Normally I disagree with such things as that but I believe he should be given an exception.
Geeman
Aye the whole sentimental thing isn't WGS's MO either normally so can't see it happening. He was the only one who could single handed win games for us in the late Noughties and deserved a spot at a finals. Obviously not happening now but deserves a spot in history among the greats.
