Maq
Without giving anything away, I'm seeing some tweets saying that the ending was piss poor and badly written. Thoughts, please. Is it worth me downloading and watching? Definitely worth watching. The ending was a bit disappointing for me, but not particularly because it was poorly written, just because it was a bit... frustrating I think! ShedTA
Aye, I think the confusion at the end is deliberate. I think Oliver is really dead but all the ambiguity is to make us feel the same sense of confusion and lack of closure as Tony. It's also interesting looking back that both Ian Garrett and Vincent Bourg served no actual purpose to the story other than to act as 2 pretty significant red herrings! yep agree, think the ending was to make us appreciate that the father could never accept his son had gone and needed to keep looking for him for his own sanity, which in the end was driving him insane. Rob
What was in the envelope that the guy got his knee smashed in over?
Bristolhibby
What was in the envelope that the guy got his knee smashed in over? Nothing. The arab copper thought it was some evidence that hadnt been checked in and was passed over by the journalist. However it wasnt as the journalist kept it all along. However the bent copper didnt know that. J

Second quote answers why he was in Russia. Not seeing Ollie in the back of the van, and the purposly faded out kid in Russia is designed to get us in Tonys mind set. If someone told us that there was a second series coming and that Ollie was still alive we the audience would go, "OK thats believable". It was this conflict, the doubt that Tony has that is causing him to lose his mind and end up chasing the ghost of his son in Russia. As has been mentioned, if a body never turns up, would any of us ever have 'Closure'? Would you not go to the ends of the earth if it was your own child that was missing? I also would do everything in my power to find that child killing Romanian. J
Fairbairn
Nothing. The arab copper thought it was some evidence that hadnt been checked in and was passed over by the journalist. J No, the envelope contained the evidence that the bent copper had killed his wife in his previous life in Morrocco. It's what the journo was using as leverage to blackmail him.
