ShedTA
aye regan in the paper saying they are looking at this, also looking at match scheduling and pricing of some games etc. all very coincidental after getting a roasting from Hearn. sh@tting himself because he is sh@t. glasgow jock
SFA - Still in the dark ages, too many blazers with self interest i'm afraid, the whole set-up needs cleared top to bottom IMO.

kmcca5
Again, I will harp on about what Brighton do to make more money... They open the stadium early and leave it open for hours after the game so you can arrive early for a pint and stay late afterwards with fellow supporters, enjoy a few beers an watch the late kick off on TV’s, discuss the days results or enjoy your teams win with a few beers. If they were to sell beer at Scottish games and keep one or two bars open after the games this could easily become a new source of revenue for the clubs. I stayed at the Amex until about 9.30 after a 3pm kick off when they won against Newcastle in the cup a few years back. Great night.
Fred_Zeppelin
I'm OK with bars being open up until kick off and re-opening afterwards like they do with the Kerrydale bar, entry by match ticket only. But I'm not so sure about selling it in the stadium itself during the game.

Don't see a problem with following their rules

Don't see a problem with following their rules It saddens me to say this, but I don't think Scottish football supporters are ready for that. They are now in a minority compared to years ago but there are still too many people whose day at the football is simply an excuse to get bladdered. And I'd say Scotland supporters are the worst for this in my experience.

I think they should bring it in for a 1 game experiment, anybody v Celtic on a Friday night. Would put the debate to bed for another 20 years! thewelk
They could just sell non-alcoholic stuff and write the "non-alcoholic" part in tiny wee writing that nobody can see. Seemed to work in Germany and Belgium! People were getting placebo blootered.

Would put the debate to bed for another 20 years! Oh wait, I've missed out a 'not' somewhere. It has always seemed bizarre that I can drink in a pub with opposition fans both before and after a game, but for 90 minutes they must remove the booze and replace it with police. I do like the sound of this Brighton model though, would much rather give my hard earned to the Dons than Belhaven. Although, how it would work in pittodrie I'm nae sure. ZoltanBuchan
Alcohol is certainly for sale at half-time in English grounds, by the queues are so big it's impossible to get a drink without missing at least five minutes of the second half. BIG GIANT BOY
a couple of weekends ago i was at St James's Park for the Newcastle vs QPR game and what a change it was to be able to have a pint before the game kicked off and one at half time etc. think of the money the clubs could make in sheer profit at say £3.50 quid a pint! ok they would have to stump up a bit to set up pumps etc but that would pay for itself in the first few games. i agree with a lot of what Hearn says if trouble is gonna flair up its gonna flair up regardless of the booze in the stadium. Scotland games should be used as a trial first to see how that goes.
sbcmfc
I think at Everton they just pour cans of Chang beer into plastic cups, so no real cost.

SMcoolJ
Only obvious place for it. I'd certainly move my ST from the South if it happened. Could make it accessible to home fans from any stand. Just close off the staircase to those not sitting in The Dicker. I think it's the way forward. (And because I sit in the Main Stand and am not moving!)
