Disgusted With The Sfa Over Qatar

ok, ive always thot the decision for FIFA to send the WC to Qatar as totally corrupt and immoral.

ive often thot that fans thro-out Europe should organise themselves to boycott all FIFA qualifying games and ..... all sponsors products associated with this totally corrupt tournament.

now we could list a whole reason of issues from corruption to sponsors of terrorism to about that country, but the fact the SFA has not even listened to the debate from fans about our concerns is diabolical.

this is a country smaller than Scotland...........Scotland which was refused the UEFA tournament because it was too small? and yet our SFA is being seen to collaborate with this regime.? what kind of message is this sending out?

Personally I want "MY" SFA to criticise the award of Qatar getting this world cup, I want the world cup moved to a proper footballing country that came provide for the fans and knows what its all about. I want a total fan boycott of qatar and its sponsors...im totally disgusted with the SFA over this....the SFA should be brokering UEFA to break away from FIFA and yet it is now sucking up to Qatar....im disgusted and ashamed.

please tell me im wrong, but corruption and money seems to be coming to the fore here at the SFA.

REGAN OUT !!!

I have never seen anything linking Qatar with terrorism... soo do you have any proof or is it just because they are in the middle east?

Purely on a human rights perspective do I disagree with Qatar holding the world cup and indeed Scotland being involved in a friendly with them.

ahem

As long as the boys had a nice wee trip thats all that matters .Qatar have agreed to 10 pointers being picked up at home by limo and taken to the nearest airport. No alchohol will be allowed but they are arranging a half marathon the day before the friendly and have started building an artificial munro for anyone to bag.

Excellent. Is there a parkrun?

I stand corrected but reading through that and other sources it's mostly circumstancel, which has been the case with most things involving Qatar in recent years. Like all the bribes with the 2022 world cup, no one had the balls to properly investigate it so we are left with half truths and half baked theories.

Amazingly, I agree with Wrighty on this one. I see that the Qatar debate rages on:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31587649

It proves one thing beyond even a shadow of doubt – that the whole decision to award Qatar the world cup in 2022 was utterly flawed and corrupt. Already, proposing Jan / Feb 2022 for the world cup has proved FIFA is a laughing stock now they will consider November / December 2021??

What they have consistently failed to mention in the press is the fundamental fact that Qatar is quite close behind Saudi and Kuwait as being one of the most intolerant Middle Eastern Arab countries out there. Their intolerance of peoples freedom is the fundamental flaw. If you are an Arab, you can do what you want and the laws don’t apply to you. If you are not an Arab, they will screw you at every turn.

For example, You are not allowed to import alcohol to the country but you are allowed to pay £10 / pint in hotel bars. I know first hand as I was fined for buying a bottle of voddie at the Duty free on arrival, only to have it confiscated not 10 minutes later as I went through the process to enter the country.

The Qatari human rights are second to none – more than 50% of the population are Indians, Philipinos and other poorer nations nationals who have their passport taken off them on arrival and are forced like slaves to work for a year or more for $200/month before the passport is returned and they can go home.

If you upset a robey boy local, you will get deported without question. The law works only one way - in their favour. For those that are gay, Qatar has the right to execute or deport pooves and lezzers.

Having visited quite a few countries in my time, I think Qatar sits quite high up there in terms of the “I really don’t want to go back to that shithole” sort of a place. No matter what happens though, we should expect to hear Michel Platini continue to praise the place and try to broker all kinds of deals to get this world cup to go ahead at whatever cost (how much is his bribe?).

Scotland may well have to play against Qatar in June 2015. What a bunch of arse. Most of the Qatari side are not even Qatari and don’t even have a vote there. They might have been born in Qatar but they don’t get to vote in the place as they could never be allowed to be Qatari nationals – just immigrant labour. I hope the SFA choose not to play against these corrupt cheats and liars but I doubt that will happen as the SFA have their dollar eyes fluttering. What a shame.

I think some flags and banners and badges stating "QATAR IS CORRUPT" would be appropriate for such a match would help the international football supporting community to follow on towards having this tourney moved to a more reasonable country.

From the corrupt decision to award Qatar the World Cup in 2022, the whole thing has been a shambles. They should just hold up their hands, admit they cocked up and award the tournament to one of the others in the running (Australia or USA). If you can't hold a World Cup in the correct months then you shouldn't be going for it in the first place.

African Cup of Nations will need to be moved too as it was due to start in January 2023.

This is the thing. Qatar would have no legal recourse as they were bidding for a summer tournament and basically lied about conditions and air con.

It wouldn't be had to follow a line that "Qatar cannot deliver the tournament as proposed in their bid" and then relocate it to somewhere where there is little or no stadium development required (USA, England, Germany).
