1986, auld enemy at Hampden rous cup.

I was 11 and attended with my dad and his two brothers.

One of my uncles was based in kent and would shout "come on England" much to the annoyance of the home crowd.

I can remember monkey noiseys ( politically incorrect now) but when John Barnes came on it seemed quite loud. I don't know if it was socially acceptable then ? I also remember Richard Gouths headed goal to win it late on.

That was me hooked.

Looking forward to taking my son for his first game at Hampden.

That was 1985. Either you are a year older than you thought you were or you've forgotten when you were born. Easy done. :wink2:

Silverbear did you get to see Denis Law play for Scotland my old man says he's one of the best you've ever produced.

I saw Denis Law play. Same game as Flicktokick mentioned. His last game at Hampden was my first. He wasn't that great that day but he was past his best by that time. It would be like trying to judge Roy Keane after he signed for Celtic.

It was Barnes especially but the other was Viv Anderson.

Your second point is bang on. Absolutely shocking in hindsight, I was standing in front of my old man and turned round to say I thought it was out of order...and he was bloody doing it too! As mentioned before, different times...

maybe the 1-1 game before that at hampden i was thinking of chamberlain ; 1-1 game where mark mcghee scored , then woodcock

You're right he did play the year before (I didn't go to that one) as did Luther Blissett...

Gary Lineker made his debut that day!

Again we had no Liverpool players, I presume because of the EC final?...

My first game was a B international at St.johnstone against East Germany.I remember pat niven lacing his boots at the side of park and thinking how small he was.during the game I remember a big guy with yellow hair was starting to make an impact at centre half.it was of course Colin hendry.he won absolutely everything.

First game was 1998. Pre world cup '98 warm up v Finland at Easter Road. 1-1. Jackson shinned one in from a few inches out. Sure we got the tix trough radio forth who were selling them for ÂŁ3 for kids the day of the game.

Didn't go again till Latvia 2001 and got the bug then.

With fixtures as they are, Gibraltar away would be game 100. Great way to celebrate that by qualifying.

Although I'm sure we'll have another game in March/June so we'll just have to qualify a game or two earlier!
