  1. Haven't read the reviews myself but I did get a Flibco bus from Charleroi to Brussels earlier this year & it was fine. I think it's just a lot less organised than people maybe think - if you turn up for an earlier or later bus, they'll let you on regardless, so perhaps bad reviews have come as a result of stowed buses. They claim that you're guaranteed a seat if you've bought your ticket in advance, so I could imagine some buses are potentially just crammed if they also allow standing. But aye, got the bus straight off the airport & also got the bus back from Brussels about 7am on the way back, and both ran without issue. Folk scudding tins on the bus too so there didn't seem to be any issues with cargo either.
  2. "I don't go to games at Hampden because I think the stadium is shit & I also don't bother going to the away games that I'd actually get points for, but I'm going to publicly rant about the system anyway". Absolutely no danger this isn't a wind up. 😂
  3. Yeah, apologies if I wasn't clear but - as HopelessUnbeliever says - I mean the Austria friendly was the kind of game that any SSC member with any level of points, even zero, could have went and got a Scotland end ticket for (and, therefore, 2 points).
  4. Threads like this are to be expected - you can't fault folk who either won't be eligible for tickets, or are worried they might not get them, wishing there was an approach that gives them a better chance of a brief for a major tournament. I imagine a lot of us who will get tickets for the group stage games would be of a similar mindset if we were in the same boat. For what it's worth, I'll be on 20+ points by the end of the year, having spent a load of time, effort & money over the last 20 years following Scotland home & away. In terms of the last 10 home/away games, that includes zero point games that anyone could have got a ticket for like the meaningless friendly in Austria, as well as going to the likes of Moldova with no official away ticket & therefore no points. I've done all that understanding how the loyalty points system works, and I'll be at all three group stage games in Germany (should we qualify) as a result - and rightfully so. The only real important point in this discussion is this - the SSC system is set in stone, it's fair, and it won't be changed for the Euros. If you want to be annoyed at something that might hinder your ability to get a ticket, be annoyed at the relatively small number of tickets they give to the qualified teams for each game, not the system that dispenses those tickets in a fair manner.
  5. Dunno what the damage will be now, but we're going Edinburgh to Ibiza the day before the game, a night there, and then a morning flight to Seville on matchday. Back to Edinburgh via a day in Turin on the way back. Was about £150 all in.
  6. A Norwegian lad a couple of the boys know who'll be also going on Saturday was asked if there'd be any hassle getting in the home end in Scotland tops, kilts etc. His response was, quote, "nah, no danger".
  7. Maybe I'm just a glass half full kind of guy but in 20 years of away games, I've only ever heard of Macedonia being an issue - so I'd just tend to go into any trip assuming it'll all be fine until told otherwise. 😂 That said, this is unfortunately only my 3rd home end stint in that time (after Moldova & Ukraine recently too) so I'll likely take the back up civvies gear too just in the case of an emergency...
  8. This seems to be a (fair & understandable) concern before every trip & for pretty much every trip there's no issues - but for what it's worth, a couple of mates were in the home end for the 2009 4-0 defeat in full regalia & had absolutely no problems. The approach might have changed since then right enough, but given there's going to be a good thousand Scotland fans in the home end in sections 109 & the tier above the away end, I'm not sure there's been anything so far to suggest that there'll be any problems. Also, it's worth highlighting that - as far as I know - one of the reasons for extra tickets going on sale was because the match was designated as low risk meaning there wasn't any need for a big gap between home & away fans. If that's true, then it would suggest there's unlikely to then be huge issues with Scotland fans in the home end at a match they already consider perfectly safe.
  9. Given the number of seats in section 109 alongside the away sections in the bottom tier (where I am) & the entire top tier that were sold within a few hours of the ticket links appearing on social media, I think 500 might be on the low side!
  10. Ach, it's small margins too sometimes. I dithered between the Faroes or Moldova in 2021 & chose the latter as I went to the former in 2007. Missed out on a ticket because of the allocation. From the last 10 away games, I've been to Moldova, Austria, Ireland & Ukraine (Krakow). Because I missed out on the points for Moldova, I narrowly missed out on a ticket for Ukraine too. And because of that, I also missed out on a ticket for Oslo (although I pre-empted that & bought a home end ticket weeks ago). Prior to that wee run, I'd been to over 30 away games with a Scotland end ticket every single time. In an alternative reality, I chose to go to the Faroes over Moldova, got Scotland end tickets for Krakow & Oslo, and wound up with a good few more points than I currently do. The SSC has its flaws but the points system isn't one of them for me - it's an easy target but it's as fair a system as you can get. I'll be in the home end in Oslo because I picked the wrong trip in 2021, not because of an unfair system.
  11. Really wouldn't surprise me, the SSC has been a shambles since they no longer had to worry about coining it in from membership fees. The days of knowing everyone in the SSC office by name, them fighting for bigger allocations & feeling like you were a part of a club run in the supporters' interests appear to be long gone - it's nothing more than a ticket selling platform now.
  12. We got 2,200 in 2009 and I'm pretty sure it was the same front tier behind the goal so, even if it's cut a little in terms of one or two sections, I'd be surprised if it was almost 1,000 less. Hopefully find out soon enough though!
  13. Oslo will be my 38th away game since 2003 - and I've managed to get an away end ticket for every one bar Moldova in 2021 & Ukraine (Krakow) in 2022. Naturally, that also means that I might end up missing out on Oslo too, depending on allocation (although I've got a home end brief). It was a grand run of 30+ games prior to having to hit the home end - it's frustrating, particularly as it seems to have a bit of a domino effect at the moment, but sadly it's the nature of the beast!
  14. We found a pub called the Destiny Cafe back in '09 serving pints for prices equivalent to that in Glasgow. Sadly a quick Google suggests that the place has closed down but there's definitely places where you can drink that aren't wildly expensive - and I for one look forward to trying to find them... 😂
  15. Yep, exasperating is it. Had the ticket in my basket at 4.03pm but couldn't buy because the system hadn't dropped down the points level yet and was telling me I didn't have the required 19 points. By 4.04pm, it wouldn't let me go further in the transaction despite telling me I was eligible. Then that was me punted out. Some buzz. 😂
