Gtoner
Is it just me or was the singing/atmoshpere at the two recent home games very poor?! Most Scottish newspapers picked up on the subdued atmosphere at the Ireland game. It wasn't until we scored that the ground started to become atmospheric. Should it not be from the minute the team enters the pitch, no? Both times we were out-sung by the away fans which is pretty poor considering who the opposition were!! I could identify small pockets of fans singing around me trying to create an atmosphere but was hard for it to catch on as we were all separated. Is it worth The Tartan Army looking into having a section which brings all fans together that are going to sing and create an atmosphere?! If we all sit together and create an atmosphere, it is more likely the entire stadium is going to join in. JUst a thought but I'd like to hear other peoples opinions on it. It's usually the North stand at Hampden but due to the extortionate pricing some people simply can't afford it. I'm don't know what it will be like at Hampden when we get back there. Even the last couple off games people would have went for the cheaper but dearer than normal tickets all spread out around the ground

girvanTA
I think we are living on the atmosphere we created in 2007, it has been poor for a while now though

It's been my first choice for a seat since Hampden got redeveloped but with the pricing now I'm more likely to go for the East Stand. Atmosphere seemed better in the cheaper seats at Ibrox and Celtic Park for the Georgia and Ireland games.

TBH North Stand atmosphere has been pretty poor recently.

jock strap
Adapting different songs to make it ours. If the words are tweaked to make it a Scotland song, who bloody cares if this team has a version and that team sings a song like it !!!!!! sonofoi
Elephant in the room - could it be that people are still scunnered post referendum & both Ireland and England were in a position to rip the pan clean out of us, that the nos didn't have the bottle for us to be a self determining country in our own right? McVinceSCT
It would be great to have some other songs too. It doesn't help us always singing the same 2 or 3 songs...
usainboltyarocket
The songsheet has been an issue for years. I believe that's more of an issue than the fans willingness to sing.

Compared to the Serbia game at Hampden a few years ago it was off the scale.

Referendum irrelevant. In fact if anything nationilism has grown since the referendum. There is no doom and gloom post referendum.
Guest allyc
Atmosphere has been dog shyte since the home game against the Netherlands when we lost 1-0.that was the last time I remember coming away thinking the support had really got behind the team.was totally against singing sections and the like but maybe....we need some new songs and perhaps a drum....better music than the tartan specials and runrig too. Speak for yourself! There's doom & gloom in my world. Politics and sport, yes overlapping but separate entities - but look at the threads on here post referendum about FoS, to stand to sit, to sing or not etc. Whether we like it or not, Ireland & England were in the position to rip the pan. Talk sport for example had an open goal in the days before the game and took it! I'm still gutted and not ready to move on as seems to be some peoples view, but that's life and politics, not football I suppose! Anyway am off to barras for JAMC! usainboltyarocket
Think people are kidding themselves on if they think the Indyref had no bearing on the atmosphere. A yes vote and CP would have been absolutely bouncing. Instead it was just about ok. Second half of ROI game was excellent. Maybe when we do achieve a yes vote the North east better together dicks disappear forever. One can only hope.

the_burger
I think the burley and levein years will have played a big part. levein especially. ripped the heart out of the national team. im not sure if the referendum would have diminished the atmosphere, but I agree if we went into the ireland/england game having voted yes the place would have been rocking
Robroysboy
$fa ticket prices mean alot of the hard core who would normally sit at Hampden are in the boozer watching the game on TV. That is not helping the atmosphere in the stadia. Thanks Mr reagan and co. The away support is always more vocal than the home support. The had core fans mentioned earlier will still travel abroad.
