Agree with Kumnio. If each of them are at their very best then it's Gordon, McGregor then Marshall for me. But the thing is having three of them all at their best at the same time is very unlikely to happen which then rotates who comes before who.

If Jamie MacDonald keeps up his early season form he'll be knocking at the door, but I agree Bain looks a sensational prospect :ok:

I saw MacDonald maybe 40 times last season for Falkirk. He's an excellent shot-stopper who doesn't like coming off his line and therefore doesn't command his box. His decision-making can be suspect at times too and he cost us a number of goals because of it. He is not an international keeper.

Agree with the comments about Bain. Every time I saw him for Alloa he was fantastic.

He's a million times better than Samson. Think that's why Toepoke is getting a wee bit excited.

Mcgregor is the oldest and in my opinion the poorest of the three keepers.

Also looking at his twitter if he could play for a UK team over Scotland he would. Proper Billy Brit. No loss, we should be taking in a young keeper for 3rd pick to build experience.

What Mcgregor lacks in dealing with cross balls he doesn't make up for in intelligence. According to him if the SNP won too many seats in the general election taxes would go up.

Not so - he did drop a clanger in the Denmark friendly in 2011

Good point. He dropped a clanger - in a friendly - nearly half a decade ago - against Denmark. One clanger in that particular game, nearly half a decade ago. . That's all I need to know. He should never where the dark blue again.

And this for me sums up a lot of unfair criticism against him, instead of criticizing his goalkeeping ability, you seem to be judging him on his political leanings before anything else.

Why does his political stance matter?? Weather we agree with his views or not, He is allowed to his own political views, 55% voted no get over it!!

Also cocked up against N.Ireland and Rep of Ireland IIRC. Not to mention Boozegate.

I know it was some time ago but let's not continue with the, "he's never let us down" line because it's simply not true.

It matters as he was desperate to play for team GB and it isn't too hard to work out that if he could play for his country (UK) over his region (Scotland) then he would. Is playing for Scotland anything more than a career and profile boost for him?

There was plenty in there about his ability. The main thing being, do we really need a keeper who is coming up to 34 as our third choice keeper. Does it really achieve anything? If one of Gordon or Marshall are injured then fair enough call him up to the squad. But if they are both fit then I would rather we called up someone like Scott Bain for our 3rd choice, who is 23 to gain experience.

How do you know he would play for UK over Scotland?

Nice, disingenuous post there. No mention of the fact that after 'cocking up' against Northern Ireland, he saved the subsequent penalty. I can't recall the Ireland one so I'll take your word for that. I don't think anyone was taking cognisance of "Boozegate" when considering how well he has performed for Scotland. It's irrelevant now, albeit regrettable at the time.

Throughout his career on the pitch, he has generally performed well for Scotland. I do think that Craig Gordon is ahead of him now though, with McGregor and Marshall neck and neck in 2nd place.
