Get over the referendum and get back to supporting your country. Only 37% of eligible scots voted for separation, approx 1 in 3 who had the opportunity to vote. The vast majority of scots want to stay in the UK, or can't be arsed to vote

Your use of "separation" defines you.....as does your "better together" take on and statistics.

The fact is so many were bullied and brain-washed to vote No by mass media, the Establishment, self-serving Unionist politicians and a deceitful offer of new ,unspecified powers. All of this was an affront to democracy ...so please don't come on here pontificating more of your Unionist shoite.

Plus the same logic presumably dictates that only 45% of eligible Scots voted No, meaning they cannot claim a 50%+ result anymore... more 'Better Together" camp genius in action. Tom. It is just as well they had all of the above because they are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

There was a very different feel to the singing of the NS today. No real passion or emotion, just going through the motions as far as I could see.

There again when you have to try and get patriotic at one of the bastions of UK OK, not easy

.

Disagree it was a pretty emotional rendition I thought

Impossible to get over the referendum. No need to give up.The fight goes on.If you want to be ruled by the likes of Cameron or Farage I just have to live with it.

Dr troll,

stats your using can be twisted to suit whatever using these figures only 47% voted to stay in the union

4.4m eligible to vote

4.3m registered to vote

2.1m said NO

1.6m said Yes

"get over it" can you not come up with something more original than that , every bloody unionist uses that , rinse and repeat and don't think...

We aint going away and as far as supporting your country,

thats Team GB for you.

I just posted facts and the fact is that just over 1 in 3 scots wanted independence. Colour it up however you like that is a fact. Also I certainly did not feel bullied or lied to. You lost the argument, get over it and move on instead of acting like little bitter twisted children.

I have never seen "little bitter twisted children" anywhere my whole life but then again I have never been round your house.

So 37% of the eligible vote said Yes and 45% of the eligible vote said No.

Hmmm... very close and inconclusive result then.

edit: 'just over' 4 out of 10 people voted No. And they call that a victory? eh? WTF?

So it was pretty much a dead-heat then with no side able to claim a majority of the eligible vote.

Being just over 40% while we are just under 40% is fukk all considering how much blatant rigging & cheating was going on from the No side and all the assembled forces of darkness they had lined up...

Clear moral victory for Yes.

And we probably won it when you take out all the funny business.

You state that you did not feel bullied or lied to ...well if you could not see bullying and lies by the Unionists it can only be because you have been brain -washed or perhaps it is you that is so bitter and twisted that you are unable to see any wrong by those you support.

Maybe you could comment on the morality of Better Together's campaign leaflets telling folks if they didn't know how to vote then they should vote No.

This was repeated on polling day when undecided voters turned up still unsure at polling stations and went in to vote No 'cause they got handed a leaflet at the gate by Better Together who reinforced the "undecided vote No" message on leaflet by telling them they had to vote No. At the polling station I attended they were also telling all sorts of lies - we would have to join the Euro as we couldn't use the pound etc etc.

So part of the No majority you are trumpeting were actually undecided, told they should vote No and lied to, - what does that do to your calculations.

There is absolutely no doubt that if it wasn't for a dozen or so newspaper editors, the BBC, Tory millionaires who funded the direct mailing campaign and the phone canvassing where people were lying through their teeth to senior citizens, people on benefits etc we would be preparing for independence today. That scared at least one out of the 11 no voters. However, the overall yes campaign is in a much better position now than at the start of the campaign. Independence will happen, Maybe sooner than people think

Sticks in the craw a bit about "For we can still rise now and be a nation again". Mind you, maybe it's very apt after the referendum?

Naw, Think we need a Song for Scotland competition. Get the Proclaimers, The Biff and other creditable Scottish acts to write their version of an anthem.

Wee STV or BBC programme showing each song being sung by normal punters or school bairns.

Internet vote for a month or so....like they did for the new Forth Bridge..job done.

No Bagpipes or Bonnie blooming Heather or "Shortbread tin" nonsense allowed.

Oh Aye and LULU or Sheena Easton singing it...is strictly forbidden!

To me it's turned into a football song rather than a national anthem

Sorry you see it that way - it certainly hasn't become a football song though. As I've said before, I don't think it's ever been more relevant and evocative. The tears flowed yesterday as I sang it, and they came from somewhere deeper than the lyrics of the song, but FoS should stay for as long as we're fighting for independence. Only after that should a new anthem be used/written.

Less of the teary eyed drunken sentimentality and more of the steely eyed sober determination.

Only had a drink after the game as usual (can't stand the fannies who turn up utterly pished) so no drunken sentimentality involved, just raw emotion. It was cathartic and to get the first one out of the way post-Scotland-shiting-it was inportant for me. And trust me, I'm as determined as you and many others to keep fighting. Not singing FoS is of course a personal choice and one I almost understand but vehemently disagree with.
