Robroysboy
On reflection the fact that england played us off the park and brought the team and the fans back down to earth with a bump maybe to our advantage. Any complasency from gordons defeat of the irish on the friday was wiped away almost immediately. We are not the finished article by a mile and were found wanting. But in saying that i think we are good enough under strachan to have a great chance of qualifying if we dont become complasent, keep the work ethic and continue to have our key players available. Apart from scott brown missing the germany game and longterm injured robert snodgrass strachan has been able to feild strong teams. Robroysboy
Did you stay for the full 90+ minutes? I saw the andrew robertson goal, then england get their third. I think i left at 87 mins.
usainboltyarocket
Losing to England in the same year we voted for them to have the major say in running our country is never ever going to be a positive. Robroysboy
Losing to England the year we decided to let them to continue run our country is never going to be a positive. Meaningless overpriced freindly. The victory over ireland was the key result to maintaning our qualification challenge. The tartan armies appearance at a major finals is necessary to gain credibility after our absence in a tournament since 1998.
Guest allyc
For spells in the england game we were absolutely clueless and we could have been a levein team.the proof of how far we have come will be next year when we see if we can hold our nerve.massive games every single one.don't for one second think we are a decent team.it's purely down to Strachan getting the best from his players. noctonjock
i agree Strachan is getting the best out of the players but i think we are a decent team and i think the Germans ,Poles and Irish would agree
irnbruman
Despite all the hullaballoo before the England game about how we could win etc - I'm quite sure Strachan didn't give a toss about this game. He played the same team for a while that played against the republic and almost to a man no-one performed. Look at the difference between Scott Brown in games that matter and this game against England where he was hardly trying a leg. Game should just be consigned to the dustbin - we move in as if it never happened.
