Flure
This will also have the affect of pushing folk to buy proper bin bags instead of using the plastic bags they get with the shopping thus giving the supermarkets even more profits No. That's what the charity bags that get shoved through your letter-box are for. Orraloon
Luanda and its outlying villages are rank with plastic carriers - trees, power lines, barbed wire, anyone daft enough to stand still for five minutes: all festooned with the bloody things. Like biffer, not used them in years. A handful of canvas bags get a shedload of use and still going strong. The only problem is occasionally a plastic carrier bag would be really handy for summat and there are none kicking about the house. Could you no just nip outside and pick a few off the fence? Or just nip outside and stand still for 5 minutes?

I guess the standard of rubbish that you throw out would be quite useful for charity shops. They also come and collect it so that would save your butler a walk doon to the bottom of the drive. DonnyTJS
Use a second-hand carrier bag? I have some standards - and it might be an ebola risk. We're already being bombarded with TV ads telling us not to eat bats.

We're already being bombarded with TV ads telling us not to eat bats. There is some evidence that Ebola might have transferred to humans through eating bush meat. I think not eating bats is good advice at this present time. You should steer clear of monkeys and armadillos as well, just to be on the safe side. I think collecting previously used plastic bags is fairly low risk unless they have been preciously used for bush meat and you are intending eating them or sticking them in other bodily orifices. I've seen folk flogging pangolins here but never armadillos. Isn't it the State animal of Texas (as well as being a carrier of leprosy)? Aye you're right enough, I got the wrong continent so you'll probably be safe enough with an armadillo. Don't eat the pangolins though, they can be easily mixed up with an armadillo. Hard to tell the difference once they are in a pie.

andymac
Phone and no glasses. Arms aren't long enough so a vague approximation and relying on iPhone text is as good as it gets.
