Lamia
Am I the only one that thinks that independence is less likely if these powers are delivered because Scotland will become and even worse place to live and the No voters will think that it is even more unlikely that we can manage on our own because we are too poor and the Scottish governments are looking like they can't do the job properly? The only was we can get independence is if the Yes parties remain in government and if they become unpopular the Unionist parties will recover and regain control. I am utterly depressed now
mariokempes56
The smith commission has produced "recommendations", and a poor range at that. They need to be 1) acted on and 2) implemented at Edinburgh. Neither of those are definite.

To be honest I hope they are not implemented but I think they will be in some form and it won't be to the benefit of Scotland
ShedTA
It's a massive stitch up by the Tories. The no voters and labour fell for it hook line and sinker. It's pish.

I am utterly depressed now I think you were maybe hoping for too much from the commission This will play into the Yes camp's hands and i cant see it being anything else than a move closer to Independence The only ones that should be depressed are the Unionists - and you can see it in their scrambling today http://www.newsnetscotland.scot/index.php/scottish-opinion/9863-all-hail-the-stupid-party

I think you're right there, it'll be a few years before any of Smith's recommendations become real and in the meantime there's already talk of rushing through EVEL so even if by some miracle Ed won the election he might well not have the ability to legislate on English matters. Labour have been well and truly done.
exile
They said it will be carried out irrespective of who wins the General Election. I wonder. hard to see a Tory UKIP coalition feeling bound by that

I just don't see why it is good for Yes
