adonisfaelivi
A true legend. Passionate, knowledgeable and better known than many of the players he commented on. RIP Arthur and thanks for the memories.

rabmania
Met him a couple of times at Morton games, Shawfield and Tannadice- but never at Cappielow, just my luck. My dad took me up to him (in the away dressing room at Clyde full of the Ton) and said, 'hey Arthur- still wearing my jaiket?'. I was mortified- he always said, whenever Arthur was on the telly- 'that's my jaiket', and on this occasion Arthur either played along...or... it was my dad's jaiket...because Arthur knew my dad by name...how? Dunno...
Tartan Eagle
Disaster for Scotland. How many times did we hear that? I use the expression all the time to express some minor setback which is rarely anything to do with Scotland or football. That, and "what a stramash" - always raises a smile dahn sarf. Lifelong memories - RIP Arthur

Khana Lagur
First ever Scotland game for me - what a night. Arthur Montford was ultimately a fan who was lucky enough to get to commentate on football matches. In the Arthur v Archie battle of the mic men it was always Arthur for me. Gone but never forgotten (how could you ever forget some of his great lines?)
