Celtic Vs Ajax- Europa League

Whats the chances of away fans being banned for this game.

No one wants to see the scenes in glasgow or amsterdam repeated.

Were the glasgow police not criticised at the time for being too lenient on the dutch visiting fans who were clearly out to cause trouble.

The return leg in Amsterdam was even more violent.

Was there trouble in Glasgow?? I remember the carry on with undercover polis in Amsterdam

Ajax fans were given a police escort to the ground from the city centre after singing and banging their hands together really loudly as I recall.

Pretty tame in comparison to the Tims smashing up trams, terrorising the locals and generally disgracing themselves whilst in The Dam.

Extremely liberal in fairness. It was for usainbolts benefit. I failed. Miserably :(

Their fans did get an escort I think, but no idea what for. Close mate of mine was out there too, says the Polis were itching for it to kick off all day but generally it was all exaggerated. Agree with your post above, it all seemed a bit powder puff compared to the nutters in places like Belgrade. No chance will away fans be banned IMO.

The undercover cop running into the 'Fenian lamppost' was a highlight of the last visit over there.

Def the chance of some trouble in Amsterdam. Think our police will be well and truly on top of Ajax fans for the parkhead game. Although it will all depend on if anything happens in the first leg.

There is always a chance of bother in Holland anyway m8. I mind going to Rotterdam years ago, they were feckin mental.

Do our polis travel to your away games out of interest?

Couldn't tell you. I've not been abroad with Celtic.

I'm keen for the trip to Turkey but wouldn't fancy Ajax.

Some usually go.

I believe some of the Grampian Police guys in Madrid for the Dons game were amongst those hit by the Madrid cops.

There are a thousand places to drink in and around Amsterdam where you'll have no problems with Ajax fans or the police.

(As with Scotland), most of the dickheads of the travelling support hang around Dam Square or in the shitty bars around it or in the red light area, and become easy targets for the local scumbags and/or coppers looking for someone stepping out of line.

Dutch police take football hooliganism seriously. There's been the odd death connected with trouble amongst supporters and it's not unknown for police to have to pull their guns to protect themselves.

When there's a chance of any trouble at all the normal police take a back seat and pass it over to the ME, who are a kind of para-military police not known for their leniency or sense of humour.

If you don't cause trouble or you don't hang around with those who do, you'll have no problems at all. But step out of line and you might find yourself in more bother than you would back in Scotland.
