phart
is starting to filter through the MSM at the moment. So HSBC which is just off the back of a $2 billion fine for laundering drug money, and another fine for manipulating the LIBOR rate. Has now had a light shone on how in 2000's it is alleged to help folk hide tax liabilities. David Cameron of course decided to employ the head of HSBC as Trade Minister one Lord Stephen Green http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/feb/09/margaret-hodge-accuses-ex-chairman-lord-stephen-green-over-hsbc-files http://www.theguardian.com/news/live/2015/feb/09/hsbc-files-global-reaction
phart
It looks like HMRC knew about, and did nothing. In fact as stated the guy in charge of HSBC moved into Government as trade minister. He of course knew nothing about this.

phart
Feck the continuation of an international economic conspiracy which is stealing directly out of your pockets, did you not realise you can put scrambled egg between two bits of sliced bread, isn't sliced bread a great thing. what else do you put between two slices of bread? irnbruman
This should be huge - but I suspect a cover up from both Red and Blue Tories - just like child abuse. They all like to hammer benefit fraud which is minimal (I used to be a fraud officer with DSS and the amount of fraud is tiny - nowadays housing benefit by dodgy landlards is where the fraud occurs) - but why the fook do they not clamp down on tax abuse/evasion/fraud. Simple answer is because they are all involved - establishment cover up. Lest see if any names emerge from this in the same way as child abusers have emerged. I think not. phart
Simple answer is because they are all involved - establishment cover up. Correct, the statement by the treasury minister was a white-wash.

J Great graphic, even if HMRC figures are closer to the reality it still shows distorted priorities, wonder why?
thplinth
You know things are bad when the Swiss seem to have more integrity when it comes to regulating this bank than the sink hole of sleaze and naked corruption that is the UK banking industry. Six months for taking a bottle of water out a ransacked shop for 'looters' with justice fast tracked in the public interest. How many bankers have been prosecuted for fraud since 2008 in the UK & USA? How slow does the wheels of justice move when it comes to investigating high ranking paedo scumbags? Compare and contrast to stealing a bottle of water... That graph above says it all. It is all about keeping us in our places, broke and fighting each other for survival.
