Distribution Of Ssc Ticket For Euro 2016 If We Qualify

If we do qualify for France 2016, how will the SSC decide to distribute tickets for the final.

How would they decide who gets the tcikets: options of the top of my head are

A. If you attended all AWAY matches through SSC would that gaurantee you tickets for ALL group section matches ?

B. Would they use the last ten away games ?

D. A combination of home and away games ?

E. Who bought season tcikets

F. Another criteria ?

A subject that is worth discussing in advance incase this eventaullity happens.

I would love the SSC to come out with a statement to clairfy. :ok:

Just be the same way as they always do........... points system based on last 10 games up to the sale.

France 98 IIRC (though Travel Club was much smaller and points system was not really used) was along the lines of being a case of 1 away game in the campaign was 1 ticket.... Having been in Tallinn for the game that never was you got a ticket for the three games, and if you had been in Monaco for the rearranged game you got a Brazil ticket........

Did you also not have to send in a blank cheque for the issuing of your ticket if we got to the next round as well?

I'm certain that they would use the points system, HOWEVER the tournament would be happening outside of this membership "cycle" and I think that additional "admin costs" may arise and the cost of SSC membership renewals may rise.

I think what is more important is how many tickets we will get. From what I can see online the normal UEFA rule is 20% of the stadium each.

So it could range from 16000 tickets for a game in the Stade de France to 6600 for the smallest stadium in Toulouse.

Anyway lets worry about this when if we qualify :ok:

Is it as much as that? Any time England qualify all you get in the press and media is "ticket scramble as UEFA/FIFA only issue FA with 3 tickets for 90,000 seater stadium"

That's not exactly true.

Away Qualifiers for that group were Austria, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus

If you went to - from memory - three or more away matches you got all three tickets. I went to four out of five and got all three tickets on that basis.

If you went to - or at least had a ticket to - the Tallinn game you got all three tickets. In reality a PR exercise as the number of people who qualified on that basis but hadn't gone to three or more games as well would have been minimal.

The rescheduled match in Monaco had no bearing on whether you got offered a ticket for the Brazil game, from what I remember, if you had 1 or 2 "points" you were offered a ticket for the Brazil game. I can't recall if the recscheduled Monaco game counted towards your three or more points.

If you had no away "points" but had been a member of the STC during the campaign, you were offered a ticket for either the Norway or Morocco game.

It was either 3 tickets or 1 ticket.

There were a lot fewer members of the STC back then and more tickets to go around, so I'd be interested to see what system they come out with if hopefully we qualify. One thing you can guarantee though is that some people will complain about it.

I don't see how it would be any different to a normal away game to be honest. You have to reward the people who have travelled to other away games before the latecomers who just fancy going to a tournament. :ok:

Well, one difference would be that the last 10 games couldn't be taken into account for each individual game in France, because there would be no time between the three games to recalculate and apply.

It would have to be the last 10 away games before the first Finals match and then apply.

The same as normal, taking that ^ into account.

Has to be them points system. There would be an uproar from members of they fecked with the system.

Simple logic, the reward goes to those who fork out the cash and time following Scotland around the world to the less glamorous games.

Simple.

Basically same as a double header just now (where the first game has no effect on your points total for the 2nd game).

Do not think it would be up to the finals though, as tickets would no doubt go on sale in late April/early May, and we would probably have a pre-tournament friendly or two (with no doubt at least 1 away from home), so could not really count this, and probably find you would have at least 4 points added to your SSC points total going into the Euros in September.

Why would the SFA /SSC come out with a statement just now over a year from when the finals are played. IF we qualify then once stadium venues and ticket allocations are confirmed then that's when they will do it.

Because they were asked?

How hard would it be for them to say "Obviously we're not counting our chickens, but it is to the advantage of our supporters for us to be clear what any ticket allocation system would be for any games we might involve us in France. We will be using the well-established points allocation system that will include points gained up to and including the last away match before the end of May 2015".
