4 Years Ago Today....

Trip that right up to the kick off had been one of my favorites in years, yet totally spoiled by the game

Night before in the beer hall was one of the best TA nights I have had ever! There was a load of Germans in, and one was the exact double of Matt Damon, so had the whole place up singing "One Matt Damon" at this German guy, and the total blank look on his face was priceless, though his friends all got it.

Remember before the game we met Jamie Mackies entire family (spoke with his dad for about 20 minutes on AFC Wimbledon and Kilmarnock).

After the game we just went back to the beer hall, and slowly aftera few hours started to enjoy ourselves again and spend the night singing cheesy karaoke and 1980's kids tv jingles.

The Dukla Prague game the next day is up there with one of my top 5 TA moments while on tour :ok:

The game that ended my TA travelling career.

Up until then I'd missed only one competitive away game in about 11 years.

Such was my disgust and anger that night, I vowed never to spend another penny of my hard earned cash on following Scotland.

I must confess though that WGS has got me considering taking my kilt out of mothballs.

Aye you in the cage with the Dukla casuals.Train journey out and return was unreal.Went to the Zitkov game on the sunday morning 10-30 ko  away team support was a grand total of 5 huddled together on the open away end.

Aye :ok:

That Tonka Toy to Vlasim was surreal! Going through open countryside, ring a wee bell in the absolute middle of nowhere and just jump off.

Then getting to Vlasim and the only bar open doubled as the local bookies, with odd's up on the wall for games in the Zimbabwe 2nd division!

Have to say though, I didn't find the Zitkov all it was cracked up to be..... lovely wee stadium, but all I had heard in the build up was "oh, you must try their hotdogs at the match!" :-))

Did a cracking city pub crawl with Netley Abbey TA for the rest of the day.

Bizarrely, I went to both Dukla and Ziskov earlier this year and thought the latter was significantly better.

Dukla were in the 2nd division at the time, and playing in Vlasim (literally one horse town about 2 hours south of Prague).... game was rubbish, but whole day was brilliant!
