So what happens if someone has to step down from Nicola's 50/50 cabinet? Presumably then you will have to have a 100% female or 100% male candidate list to restore the sex balance.

The answer is yes because it has happened already, it had to have, when Nicola was populating the various posts. Sooner or later if you insist on 50/50 no matter what you will be looking at lists of candidates that come exclusively from one sex or the other.

And this is supposed to end / fight discrimination?

Thick arsed shit. Can't ing stand it or to be associated with it. Godd luck, you are going to need it if this is a sign of things to come.

I am no fan of the SNP's attitude to business. I was really hacked off with the Trump thing but they are the party closest to my views that does actually have a chance at Westminster. If I voted for the Greens then the Liberals or Conservatives are most likely to get in. Then at Holyrood we need a majority Yes Party to have any chance of another referendum and no other Yes party has a chance of that.

It's quite possible to be 'business friendly' but also be a socially just government.

In general, Scandinavian countries manage it.

I believe strongly that the SNP are the best placed political party in the UK....the only political party in the UK....who are capable of doing this.

You saying there are not enough good politicians of either sex to fill any vacancy. Is the party so bereft of decent politicians?

I said what I said. You pick the best candidate for the job irrespective of what sex they are not because of it. That is equality.

Are you saying if need be you would pick a less competent female over a more competent man just to make it 50/50? The answer is of course Yes, it has to be because you have set the 50/50 as the priority and not who is best for the job, that becomes secondary.

I wonder which SNP genius proposed that the way to reduce discrimination based on sex was to start discriminating based on sex? I suspect this is exactly the sort of person who got the job not based on their competence.

(Is the candidate pool Nicola is selecting from roughly 50/50 male / female or is she forcing this 50/50 ratio out form a non 50/50 pool of candidates?)

And you use this to paint a picture of the party with over 92000 members?

As bad as the unionist press ever were in the referendum.

I was merely giving an example. I use the fact that very few of the 92,000 seem to be questioning their party. How much noise was made when they voted against implementing the living wage for all council workers and contractors?

Where?

Holyrood do not set the wages of Council employees. Councils do that.

Holyrood has ensured that all of its employees are paid the Living Wage.

It's up to Councils to manage their own employees.

Trying to shift the blame up to where there is no jurisdiction is typical of Labour-led councils.

The SNP stated that they had to vote against the motion as it may break EU law, the EU have since said that there is no such law.

Shifting blame is at the heart of the SNP.

OK

Alex Salmond tried to tie the living wage to the independence debate saying that the EU would only allow such measures if Scotland became independent, the EU refuted his claims. I've no problem with the SNP desiring independence, but to put the welfare of Scots secondary isn't acceptable to me :)

Every single one of the local councillors of my acquaint would have absolute apoplexy if Holyrood tried to take away their (the councils') right to manage their wages budget.

Even to the benefit of their employees? The motion had significant TU backing.

Even to the benefit of their employees. The power to manage their wage budget lies with the councils - not with central (Edinburgh) government.
