Tartan Exile's Achievements

  1. Anyone from the building trade estimate the cost of repair - would be interested to know the cost to the club from the direct actions of their fans.
  2. Any Scots on this board also based in Hong Kong and keen to meet up for the match? I've called the Canny Man but they're not showing it so thinking Delayney's or Trafalgur in Wanchai would be the best options.
  3. Agree with that the majority wouldn't significantly improve but you'd still need to have a look at Robbie Keane even if he's getting on a bit (I'm looking at this as a one off game improvement as opposed to an on-going campaign)
  4. Wonder if people could share their past experiences or offer some advice regarding a warranty issue. I bought a new bike via a UK retailer in Feb '14 with a Shimano Ultregra Group Set (brakes, gears, crank, etc) which has a standard two year warranty and in March of this year the crank had a serious malfunction and the outer casing sheared away from the metal component. I've gone back to the company whom I purchased the bike from who have in turn been in contact with their supplier who rejected the warranty claim as there were "impact marks" at the end of the crank which appears to have been caused by accident / damage. I've seen the paper trail for this but I was unable to accept their reasoning so I asked for this to be escalated. I've now been told that it's gone from where I bought it, to the supplier and then to Shimano with the outcome the same - again I not able to accept this outcome as I know the bike hasn't been in an accident. As yet I've not seen Shimano's reply as it went to the supplier and then to the place I purchased it from (I'm in the process of requesting this information). It's not a cost issue and I’ve replaced the crank and back out on the road. I've not got a bee in the bonnet about this and believe it's about corporate responsibility and delivering on the guarantees and warranties I received / the consumers receive at the time of purchase from corporations. I'm thinking on going directly to Shimano as I believe the ultimate responsibility lies with them - would this be the right course of action? At the very end I suppose I could go to Trading Standards but as I'm based in Hong Kong and the faulty part is now back with me bit of a pain to keep sending back an forth to the UK. Cheers (I wish I could upload the photo's to show you how ridiculous I feel their claim is but for the life of me I can't seem to be able to)
  5. Out of interest how does your vote get allocated when an expat - guessing it's the last place where you registered. I think I'm registered for Ayrshire South (Prestwick) so even tho I've not lived there for 15 odd years and not voted in that time my vote would still get counted - is that how it works? Before moving abroad I last lived in London and may be registered there - are you able to choose where you're vote is allocated as I would have no interest in voting in London.
  6. Scotland 2 - 0 France (Johnston '28 & '52) 8 March 1989 Hampden Park Att: 65,204 9 years old.....absolutely pelted down that night - arrived at the stadium drenched but luckily we were in the old West Stand so had cover, looking back I really feel for the foot soldiers who were in the North & East stands that night.....as least the result made it worthwhile. I do remember thinking for Mo Jo's first he did well to get it out from under his feet so must have been on my dads shoulders!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fZGCPxx0e0
  7. Yeah but they are legally not allowed to name the girl - I'm sure they know her name. I think it should be the same for the guy, at least until he has been charged. I think I'm right in saying that if a girl called rape and then later admits that it wasn't, she still can't legally be named yet the guy can, gets his name dragged through the mud with the stigma now attached.
  8. I completely understand why the female isn't named and agree with that as it would prevent a lot of females coming forward for rape and other sexually motivated attacks, however, I've always had an issue as to why the guy in this type of scenario is allowed to be named and plastered all over the news when at this stage he's not been charged and only "arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16".
  9. P.S: If you play golf then the course at Santiburi Golf & Country Club is well worth a visit, can hire all the gear over there as well
  10. If you're looking for a nice quiet time in Samui then The Siam Residence on the west cost (Lipa Noi) is fantastic and relatively cheap - about 30min from Airport. You have a big villa to yourself and the pool is big as well so even if all the villa's are full (there are only 9) then you'll still have space. Decent food and staff are really friendly - cracking little place. You can rent bikes from there and venture as much or as little as you like
