Think the almost total unanimous ditching of Patterson for totally unproven players is a bit of a joke. It’s Ralston and a huge ‘arm around’ Patterson. Then Clarke decides on basis of the friendlies and pre-tournament camp.

Not sure if brentford would actively want hickey involved in Euro's to help push on his rehab or would they try and stop him going to be safe that he’s fit for them next season (and a poss big pay day if the Man City transfer rumours are true). If I was frank I wouldn’t care about Scotland…….. but if I was hickey all I’d care about was Germany.

Watched him today and whilst Sheffield Utd were dung, Ollie.didn’t shine. I guess he ‘led the line’ but didn’t really do anything apart from a couple of decent touches from long balls and a decent diving header……… at his own end 😆 I was drifting towards him ahead of dykes but less sure now, Adams & Shankland go I think….. 3rd striker I dunno.

Dunno about ralston. If playing regularly I’d defo say yes, start him. But he is hardly playing too. can’t go to mcrorie or johnston.

Hickey won’t be in Germany. Patterson has no chance really of playing at Everton this season unless they have a catastrophic injury crisis in that part of the defence. Coupled with a pretty disastrous game against NI he shouldnt start in Euro’s. But he will, as there’s nothing else. He just has to step up. Easy to say as it’s his confidence that is shot, and the boo’s make it worse. Having watched NI back, as well as the calamitous stuff, I think he still has it and can be a class above other options, but needs the confidence. Has to be 90mins and good performances in both of the friendlies.

That’s it tho……. to get in the team at such a young age and with very limited first team appearances you have to do something dramatic, you really have to stand out, and as yet he hasn’t……. apart from in our minds hoping for him to be great. Right now fraser is a better option.

Agreed. McBurnie is a very limited player, but a lot of our options are. Feel slight pain to say it, as he gives everything and has given us some great results, but think dykes should make way for him…….. IF he keeps it going to the end of the season.

He was underwhelming prior to injury. Maybe just beginning to angle into cup games but long way to national team. Hope he becomes a great but long road ahead and fast track to be the ‘wide saviour’ of the national team might not be a great shout.
