"DISCUSSIONS have taken place to abolish the Scottish Affairs Committee in Westminster to prevent it from becoming a power base for the SNP."

There is a story on same page of paper edition about SNP call for Scottish Labour and LibDem lords to be reduced following electoral defeats (The Lib Dems have 101 peers apparently, though only 8 MPs)

I see Angus Robertson is to get Nick Clegg's old office and SNP will have a whole 'corridor' in the House of Commons.

The Daily Mail had some pathetic article about the SNP crossing thier fingers during the oath to the queen or doing it in Gaelic. They also mentioned they call the corridor Freedom corridor and talked about all the awful things they have done so far such as clap, take selfies and the worst of all, Mhairi Black ate a chip butty!

Here it is

A chip butty? On the Commons Terrace? Bloody oiks! How heinous and Scotch-like. These people should be thankful that we Daily Mail readers allow them to watch the Last night of the Proms and listen to The Archers. Someone should tell them that we decent folk fought two world wars to ensure that they have the freedom to deep fry their foodstuffs and wear kilts. Personally I feel a spell in domestic service would knock it out of them.

Disgusted. Surbiton

The Oath is a major reason Sinn Fein do not exercise their seats.

could it be changed, of course. will it be changed, no chance

Australia changed our oath in undertaking citizenship to allow option of loyalty to Australia, rather than Liz.

Today's the day that MPs take the oath. You can't take seat in Parliament unless you swear or affirm allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

I wonder if any SNP MPs might try to insert a clause asserting that their first and foremost loyalty is to will and sovereignty of the people of Scotland.

This Mhairi Black sounds like a street rat.

Because she had her dinner with the working folk? What a rebel.

I just hope she continues to highlight all this elitist nonsense. No doubt they will try to bully her into line but I'm not sure she is the type to allow herself to be bullied. I hope folk continue to give her, and others, support for highlighting this sort of stuff. To me this is just as important as their stance on policies.

No, because she is dense, can't talk properly and is a socialist, which means she doesn't know anything about economics or history.

That's your definition of a street rat is it?

I'd suggest having a word with yourself, before you go about calling folk street rats

I'd suggest everything having a word with themselves and leave the troll alone.

There are two or three contrarians polluting the board at the moment and are doing spectacularly well.

Yes but are they left wing or right wing contrarians? We have a right to know! ?

Personally I think young Ms Black has handled herself superbly so far. This diary entry proves she's the right sort of person to be an MP and represent her fellow man/woman.

Certain posters on here could learn from her example.

I miss my emoticons as every time someone replies to Menschli?? I imagine a head bashing against a wall. Under one name he's actually not too bad, bit of a tube under this one though but as a troll he's brilliant as people keep biting.
