Asissted Suicide Bill 2015

This has apparently become the top method in Asia. Yet to catch on in the west as much. If I had to top myself this would probably be the route I go down...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charcoal-burning_suicide

There was a story fairly recently about some guy who killed himself and his family (I think one kid survived) because he foolishly took the dying embers of their BBQ into their tent to keep warm. It is ing lethal.

Couple of cheap BBQ grills with a bag of charcoal each. Get to the glowing ember stage and put them both into a room / confined space for 2 hours, nothing too drafty, with closed windows doors etc. Enter room and lie down, one hour later or less you are unconscious. Make sure you are not discovered for a reasonable time and good night vienna. I would not promote it but I think we all have to think about our end. It's coming after all. This is dignatas ending without dignatas prices.

edit: link to proposed humane death penalty method, someone on TV tried rapid decompression as a method of death penalty, without actually dying of course (they after passing out went into a de/re-compression chamber), hypoxia I think it is. Similar to this suicide method. Painless apparently and with an extremely high success rate.

I dare say there is a huge amount of money invested in keeping old people alive no matter how much they have to suffer. We are not even a religious country anymore so what else explains this?

I think it might be at least partly down to the practicalities of how to implement and police it. I would be very surprised if a lot of assisted suicide doesn't already happen, but how many folk get prosecuted for it? Maybe a lot of MSPs just shat it and are quite happy to sit back and let other folk make the difficult decisions? I am just speculating of course.

Disappointed that the bill was defeated, but don't think anyone who voted against it should be judged too harshly at this time. I do think the parliamentary decision has went against the will of the public, and it will come up again.

You'd also need to put a note on the outside door to stop anyone - not 'kitted up, - entering and risking their own safety... no point having uninvited/unwilling company on your last journey. (Unless of course it was sure to be someone you didn't like.) :wink2:

Are humans the only animal on the planet to willfully commit suicide?

(spare me the lemmings chat ok)

Male spiders? Although they might not know they are going to get eaten after their first shag. You would think their mothers might warn them about it, but we all know how devious females can be.
