dezmondo
I have an Acer laptop with a 11.1v battery, the old charger stopped working and I'm looking to buy a new one. Will a 19v charger be ok as that seems to be the only ones available? Thanks
The Kilt
If you put your old charger type into eBay or Amazon you should find a replacement ok. Normally at good price. Had to do it a few times. Be very carefully to use a different Voltage.
sbcmfc
Worst case there are universal ones you can buy with adjustable voltage, and they come with various attachments for different laptops. If your current one is 12v, Id be wary of sticking a 19v power supply in! (Just re-read your post, what's the voltage of the charger? That's what you need to be looking for) Edited May 27, 2015 by sbcmfc
Huddersfield
I don't know what might happen with that specific permutation & model but you can do serious damage to computer equipment with power supply errors (I know this personally!!) so agree your best bet is to get a duplicate which should be fairly easy to find.
