This is complete unknown territory for me.I've been. i quite liked it. People are friendly, some decent bars and the food can be err... Interesting (horse meat, sheep's head and fermented yak milk were three things I tried). Beautiful location just below the mountains although I didn't get the chance to go hiking or skiing.It is a bloody long way from Scotland, though. Could be worse, at least you aren't going to Astana.
