Boeing P-8S For Lossiemouth

Recommended Posts

Where's our drones being held stevie? My old best mate from primary and growing up was over in Las Vegas training on them for 3 years (he was a Eurofighter pilot originally)

Good gig, the UAV Pilot job. Like you say, training in Vegas and regular trips out there thereafter. The twats get the flying suits, badges and all that bollocks for what amounts to playing an ultra-real PS game. I could tell you where they are but then I'd have to kill you :moon:

Last i saw he was having to find some new home for the squadron snake or something, as Lossiemouth was closing. Or some shit like that.

George Osborne Verified account @George_Osborne

We'll treble firepower of UK's 2 new aircraft carriers by 2023 by investing in F-35 stealth fighter jets, meaning capability 2nd only to US

F35 described as most expensive and least functional military jet in history

One thing that puzzles me about the P-8 is this was announced as if there is no competition in the market. What competitive process got us to this decision?

I watched the sleek and capable Kawasaki P-1 at the RIAT this Summer and it had 4 engines. No mention of that. Didn't think you could dispense with competition in such a blase way.

This is defence procurement we're talking about. A murky world.
