JasMc1973
Canne believe I'm asking you lot for advice, but here goes..... I am graduating in the summer and will be wearing my kilt.... that's the easy bit! I have a green kilt (galloway district)and also a BPC / bow tie - but i feel that is too formal for said event.. what are my alternatives? Argyll? was thinking of a dark grey Harris tweed jacket n wastcoat and wearing a normal tie- but on the latter anyone know where i can get a decent one without spending huge amounts of money. Reason I fancy the HT is that I can wear it again, where as the Argyll might not see the light of day as I'd probably wear the BPC to burns nights and new years etc any ideas or places to buy would be appreciated
jimstroma
Tartan tie to match the kilt
Bristolhibby
I wore black Argyle jacket, waistcoat and black tie. Looked the shit, if I don't mind saying so myself. Was the only man in a kilt and it went down a storm (it was in Bristol cathedral). J

Duncan Blackheart
Think I had a plain green (woollen?) tie of the type they sell in kilt shops. Kilt is predominantly green. Then argyll jacket or something. Figured it wasn't bow tie (formal) or cravat (wedding). Anyway - it was in England and they don't have a clue anyway. Mission was accomplished later that evening anyway.
Stapes
Some unis require a white bow tie, some black. Not a big deal if you get it wrong.
McDange
Full dress. I went Prince Charlie jacket, 3 button waistcoat and black bow tie. Even if it's during the day it's still a big event.
